This week seems super long probably because so much happened! Tuesday we had Zone Conference, it was fun but long. We were taught about how to have short lessons in 6 hours, oh the irony. We got a 9 page talk on Monday and then had to write a talk about it- yep i skimmed it because as Sister Trainers we found out that we had training to do for it Monday night at 9:30 - bedtime is at 10:30 and we had to be at the church at 7- basically no time to write our talk or train too much, but Heavenly Father provides and it all went well.
We had a funeral on Saturday, that was really sad and kinda hard. I understand that I will get to see her, Romina, again but it was hard having to see her husband having to be so strong when so many relatives were losing it. It was hard because she was doing so well, her family was just starting to come back to church and then all of a sudden she is gone. There was a lot of support from the ward and then from the Marshallese community.
We had exchanges so I went to Hanalei and it is so beautiful up there. The work there is very slow and hard. While we were there we were able to see some miracles. So many good people and so many hippies that told me to stop driving our cars. I thought it funny that he is telling this to the people that walk a good amount as missionaries. I love being around Sister Talanoa I learned a lot from her just about diligence and trying your best to bloom where we are planted even if the area is not the best that you have seen.
Then we had stake Luau and it was really fun! The elders did a missionary haka it was great, I felt left out. But it was fun to be with everyone.
As for people this week-Antoinette: we met her by trying to go to see a part member family and she is related to the family. She is so good and wants to keep learning. She has been having a really hard time with the people she is living with because they have a lot of negative energy. She called us up for a last minute lesson and we scrambled to find someone that can come with us that has the Priesthood. We had eaten dinner the night before at our Bishops house and his parents, who had just finished being mission presidents in Florida. As we left the Bishop made a passing comment of you can put my parents to work. So that moment came to my mind and we made a few phone calls and they were good to come with us to the lesson. It was a small miracle for us. The lesson went really well, Antoinette was really struggling and was able to receive a Priesthood Blessing which was really helpful to have right at that moment. It was amazing to have a couple that understood missionary work so well and was such a big help in discerning her needs and teaching the gospel simply and powerfully, I learned a lot from their example.
We had another lesson set for later in the week which ended up not happening but she called us and said that she would love to come to church. We found her a ride and she came for all 3 hours and was surprised by how quick it went by. She really liked it and is going to come to Stake Conference next week!
